“Barefoot Maternity” raises funds for breast cancer research

From July 2008, Barefoot Maternity will help raise funds and awareness about the importance of research in finding the cure finding the cause.

Barefoot Maternity is an online maternity and nursing store which plans to donate $5.00 from the sale of every breastfeeding top in hot pink to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting and promoting high quality research into the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer.

The Foundation is committed to funding high quality research responsive to the needs and interests of women affected by breast cancer. Since being established in 1994, the Foundation has awarded more that $44.5 million to 168 breast cancer research projects across Australia. This includes two recently announced $5 million five-year collaborative grants.

Initiatives such as the “Breastfeed in Pink” campaign make a vital contribution towards allowing the Foundation to continue its work.
